Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) launched 5 initiatives allocated for the Month of Reading, which set the month of March of each year as a reading month, with the aim of promoting a culture of reading among the different segments of society.
The initiatives will include launching book's club at SEWA's headquarters, which will review and discuss  books with SEWA’s employees. The initiatives will also include an internal exhibition that includes a variety of more than 1000 books from the latest publications in various fields of knowledge, including the publications of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

SEWA will participate with the Sharjah Public Library in a specialisation exhibition from3 -5 March. SEWA will also organise visiting programmes to public libraries and Al Qasimi publications.
 
Eng. Dr. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA highlighted the importance of reading in achieving sustainable development which depends on knowledge, underlined the importance of encouraging generations to read.

Al Leem said that SEWA’s initiatives highlight its keenness to encourage employees to read and develop their knowledge. He also appreciated His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, keenness in supporting all initiatives that encourage reading, which contributed Sharjah to obtain a Capital of Arab Culture and World Book Capital titles.
