Sharjah 24: Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) organised a big celebration to mark the UAE 48th National Day, at the chamber's headquarters on Sunday.
The celebration included many cultural, heritage and national events through which the Chamber was keen to revive the values and principles of the founding fathers of the UAE.

On this occasion, the Board of Directors of the SCCI, its senior management and all employees, extended their congratulations to the wise leadership, affirming their keenness to work and proceed steadily towards achieving its goal of enhancing the economic status of the Emirate of Sharjah, within the framework of the wise vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

In his speech at the ceremony, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, said that the National Day is a great occasion in the UAE, where we live the memory of glorious days engraved in our conscience and memory, and where we live the triumphant march started by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, along with his brothers, the founding fathers; these great leaders who have given their lives to reunite us and our word towards a great goal, the Union, our glorious edifice which is gaining, every year, more strength, robustness and power to face challenges.

He pointed out that, after 48 years, the UAE has proved its ability to make achievements, achieve excellence and leadership, stressing that this leading position enjoyed by the UAE today would not have been achieved without the wise directives of the judicious leadership who strengthened its position and leadership role, locally, regionally and globally.

Al Owais added that the vision and directives of our wise leadership aimed at consolidating a comprehensive and integrated economic system in the country, have increased the SCCI’s determination to intensify work and redouble efforts to advance the economic development in the country and keep pace with the global developments to build tomorrow's economy.

For his part, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director General of SCCI, said that the celebration of the National Day brings to mind the anniversary of the founding of the Union when the will and sincere determination of the founding fathers united to establish a young state that has historically brightened up in which every Emirati should take pride.

At the end of the ceremony, Al Owais, accompanied by a number of members of the Board of Directors and Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, honoured the participating parties, members of the organising committee of the ceremony and others.
