Sharjah 24: In accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) has completed the facilities of the Khorfakkan Club For The Disabled, at a cost of AED 52 million.
Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SPWD, explained that the Club is a model and integrated building for the Khorfakkan Club for The Disabled, using the latest international standards, and equipped with all facilities and services in a privileged environment to practice all activities and special events for this important category.

The new Khorfakkan Club for The Disabled is located in the Jaradiyah area off the western ring road, sits an area of more than 51 thousand square metres, and is commensurate with Sharjah's cultural status as a friendly city for people with disabilities and as the second headquarters of the International Disability Alliance (IDA).

Al Suwaidi stressed that this project is the result of the unlimited support from the His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.

For his part, Eng. Mohammed bin Yarouf, Director of SPWD, said that the project includes a highly equipped multi-use sports hall on an area of 2700 square metres in addition to other facilities including administrative offices, a mosque, meeting rooms, majlis and cafeteria, a football playground, rubber walkway.

He also appreciated the efforts of all service agencies that contributed to the completion of the project.
