Sharjah24: Sharjah Children, an affiliate of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, launched recently a new programme entitled “Meeting an Icon” which hosts individuals who have a mark in the community.
Held over virtual meeting platforms, the program targets children of ages (8-12) offering them the opportunity of meeting community icons and benefit of their experiences and expertise.

The guest of the programme’s first meeting was Salha Ghabish, Head of the Cultural and Media Office at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), where the child moderator Salama Al Tunaiji presented her to the audience highlighting her achievements and publications.

Ghabish noted that every person has their own experience and expertise that can be beneficial to others if shared.

She then responded to the questions raised by the attendees regarding the correlation between reading book and writing books, to which she responded that reading is a key influencer in all aspects of life as the books we read help shape our life and our way of thinking.

To conclude, Ghabish stressed the importance of focusing on Arabic language from a young age, remembering how her early love to Arabic led her first book; a poetry collection entitled “waiting for the sun”.
