UNIDO highlights existing cooperation with Bahrain

Sharjah24 – WAM: The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, UNIDO, has issued a statement highlighting the existing cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of green industries.
The organisation referred to a five-day training course at the University of Bahrain on "Green industrial development - Pathways towards a circular economy", with the aim to discuss key issues that play an important role in strengthening economic development in the Arab countries.

The statement of UNIDO, which based in Vienna, explained that the training course is a result of fruitful cooperation between the Supreme Council for the Environment of Bahrain, the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain.

The participation of 15 policy-makers from the Arab and African ministries of industry and trade and officials from the Kingdom of Bahrain, discuss the important issues of enhancing energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and their role in the development of circular economy and detoxification.

Participants in the training course, which is due to end on Thursday, will be briefed on key trends in green industrial development, identify a variety of useful policy tools, and review selected case studies through a series of lectures and interactive exercises.
