The Emirate of Sharjah is preparing to open the regional office of the International Organisation of Folk Art

Sharjah 24: The Emirate of Sharjah is preparing to open the regional office of the International Organisation of Folk Art (IOV) in the Middle East and North Africa region, where a new building is currently being constructed and equipped to manage the organisation's branches in twenty-one countries, 18 of them are from the Arab Countries.

The nomination of the Emirate of Sharjah to host the Regional Office came  during the meeting of the Executive Council of the Organisation on March 8 in Manama the Capital of the Kingdom of  Bahrain., The nomination came in recognition of the Emirate of Sharjah  for its cultural ,heritage , and the leading role played by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in promoting cultural activities and support research work in the fields of Folk Culture.

Ali Abdullah Khalifa, President of the International Organisation of Folk Art at the temporary headquarters of the organisation in Manama, received Dr. Abdu Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and Atiq Al Qubaisi, the Administrative Assistant for Cultural Activities at the Institute, during the meeting they handed to Ali Abdullah Khalifa the letter of agreement from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah for the opening office for IOV in Sharjah.
