Sharjah celebrates bicentennials of Guatemala and Costa Rica

Sharjah 24: The Department of Government Relations (DGR), in cooperation with the Embassies of Costa Rica and the Republic of Guatemala, launched a bicentennial ceremony for the of the founding of the two countries, in the presence of H. E. Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, H. E. Sheikh Majid Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Government Relations, H.E. Lars Pera Pérez, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the State, H.E. William Soto, Consul General of the Republic of Costa Rica in Dubai, and a number of heads of government departments, at the House of Wisdom.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi acknowledged in an exclusive statement to "Sharjah 24" that commerce and tourist potential between Latin America and the United Arab Emirates were discussed, particularly the role of the Emirate of Sharjah in food exports and the aviation and ports sectors in transportation.

At the House of Wisdom, Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi opened a photo exhibition. The exhibition features Guatemalan and Costa Rican cultural and tourist sites, as well as events that allow visitors to learn about the cultures and heritage of both nations.

Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, were in attendance at the opening ceremony.
