Sharjah 24: The Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD) and Sharjah Municipality (SM) discussed ways to enhance cooperation and unify efforts to serve the Emirate of Sharjah.

Such efforts are a translation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the necessity of cooperation between institutions to fulfill common goals in all fields in the Emirate of Sharjah.

This came during the joint meeting, which included Khamis bin Salim Al Suwaidi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD), in the presence of Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality (SM).

Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi stressed the keenness of DVAD to strengthen its efforts with all entities and institutions, including SM, with the aim of serving the people of Sharjah.

He indicated that the suburban councils are all over the Emirate of Sharjah, thanks to the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, serve the people living in all neighbourhoods. He added that the meeting with SM comes to continue providing such services in order to achieve the desired goals and ensuring satisfaction.

In turn, Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality (SM), praised the role of DVAD and the social services it provides to people in all cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, and its endeavour to serve them, stressing that SM is keen to strengthen and integrate such efforts.

After that, aspects of cooperation were discussed in a way that enhances the higher goals sought by the DVAD and SM. The two sides reached an agreement to allocate offices for SM in a number of suburban councils in the city of Sharjah. 

During the meeting, they also discussed participation in organising the upcoming 10th edition to Dawahi Festival, and the contribution of SM to its success, as it is a strategic partner of DVAD in all the previous editions.
