'Sharjah Youth' are training in robot programming

Sharjah 24: The 'Sharjah Youth' of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators continues the activities of the 'EV3 Robots - The Future of Energy' programme, which continues until September 2021, to provide its members with scientific and technical skills through the 'STEAM' system, and developing their capabilities to find innovative solutions for programming the EV3 robot, and to qualify them to participate in national and international competitions and championships.
The programme, presented by Yasser Muhammad Abdul Muttalib, and Ahmed Saad, the science and technology facilitator in Sharjah youth, via the Zoom platform, includes weekly workshops to familiarise the participant with the concept of the robot. Its types and applications, and how to install its components and program it to perform tasks such as navigating with specific movements, measuring distance and time, and linking it to the outside world through sensors.

The participants learned about the objectives and types of robots, the basics of the EV3 robot, its components, and specifications. In addition, to the skills of downloading and installing the basic programs used in its design and programming. They also listened to a detailed explanation of how to program the robot using the EV3 processor and the most important commands available in it and their functions.

The participants were briefed on the conditions and laws of participation in the WRO World Robot Olympiad for the year 2021 entitled The Future of Energy in all categories of the competition (primary, preparatory and secondary), and the opportunity to participate in the programme is still available for young people and young people aged 13 to 18 years by visiting the website WWW.Shjyouth .ae, and fill out the online enrollment form for Sharjah Youth and participate in the programne.

Book club
On the other hand, a group of Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah participants participated in a special session within the activities of the "Book Club," in cooperation with the UAE Board on Books for Young People, to encourage young readers to continue reading, to prepare an informed, educated generation, familiar with the culture of others, capable of dialogue Expressing opinions and accepting others.

The session hosted the writer Muhammad Al Nabulsi to discuss the May book entitled "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Irish author Sean Covey. The session provided an opportunity for the participants to express their opinions on the book and the stories of real teenagers worldwide. In addition, to their vision, Private books in all self-development books and their role in motivating young people and encouraging them to study research and self-development.
