Rafid records 6% decrease in traffic accidents compared to 2020

Sharjah 24: Rafid Automotive Solutions has announced 18,310 recorded minor traffic accidents during the first quarter of 2021; compared to 19,468 minor accidents during the last three months of 2020 – showing a 6% decrease.
Among those accidents, 60% were caused by drivers not maintaining a safe distance. Other causes included failure to stay in driving lane (10%), reversing without paying attention (10%), negligence and lack of attention whilst driving (10%), and other affiliated reason (10%).

His Excellency Salim Saeed Al Midfa, CEO of Rafid Automotive solutions, said, “We are pleased to report a 6% decrease in minor traffic accidents during the first quarter of 2021, compared to the last three months of 2020.”

Al Midfa added, “We urge members of the public to adhere to traffic laws whilst driving, to protect themselves and all their fellow drivers on the road. The decrease in accidents is a positive indication of every driver playing their part in contributing to the reduction of road accidents, and providing safe roads for all residents, citizens, and visitors.”

During the first quarter of 2021 (January-March), Rafid received a total of 30,913 calls for Accident Reporting and general inquires, and 2,639 reports through the mobile smart application. The mobile application allows drivers to send photos and accident reports directly to the Rafid Accident Department with ease and speed, as well as uploading their driver’s license and vehicle license plate numbers.
