Sharjah24 – Reuters: Russia's famous Bolshoi theatre brightens the 2021 winter season with a one-act opera 'Salome', composed by Richard Strauss.

The performance's director Claus Guth explained that the Biblical story behind the plot was filled with a new sense.

"Salome is very modern (in terms of) phycology because it tries to look into the mind of a woman, at her growing up from a young girl into somebody who notices that she has to free herself from influences, " he said.

Opera lovers will be able to enjoy 'Salome' on February 25.

Russia has partially lifted the coronavirus restrictions last month, allowing museums to open and theatres to increase the number of seats sold. However, some limitations on the numbers of people at mass events are still in place.
