His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah said at the opening of ‘Investing in Future’ (IIFMENA) conference, 2018.

Addressing the guests of Sharjah from different parts of the world, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah centres, in this speech, on the foundations of the great civilisational development project that Sharjah is working on, to be its real investment and guarantee in the future. This project is to support young people because they are the basis of the future. It is a message to specialists to give young people the opportunity; teach them, and let them test their knowledge, to acquire the necessary knowledge, and promote their talents and abilities, for they are the ones who will carry the torch in the coming days and years.

His Highness associates every development of society with young people; therefore providing them with enabling, stable, safe and secure environment in various societal, economic areas and others, is substantial so that this environment can support its new generations of youth. This short phrase about the environment carries all the features and components of a civilisational renaissance nowadays, and it is another call to meet all the needs of the family that is the matrix of this youth, and the advanced life the society seeks, where the youth can enjoy peace, security, safety and creative opportunities for learning, growth and stability; they are the required necessities to carry out the task of bringing up, educating and caring for young people.

In the context of his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah gave fragments from the long years of experience in community development programmes, emphasising the role of youth, and this is the future role that we expect them to take and lead. We must instill in them knowledge, values, morals, and sound upbringing. Therefore, we underscore the importance of giving young girls and boys the real opportunity and good care from a very early age, because this upbringing is what guarantees us not only the future of this young generation, but also the future of the society and the country.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah hits the nail on the head by highlighting the youth’s role in making and leading a bright future. His Highness presents to all spectrums of the community, be they officials, teachers, parents, or guardians, the quintessence of the matter, which is to provide a healthy and sound environment for young people to begin their true experience in life. In these practical approaches, young people work to acquire skills, develop societal values, and advance to a new level of potential in various fields of their specialties, in order to achieve what the wise people are looking for, and what young people themselves desire for their future and the meaning of the life they aspire to lead.
