SEWA, CIPS sign MoU to develop procurement, supply practices

During the signing of Memorandum of Understanding
Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Charted Institute for Procurement and Supply (CIPS), aimed at supporting the strategic objectives of the authority to become a global center of excellence in the field of procurement and supply in the electricity, water and gas sector, in addition to supporting initiatives aimed at licensing and empowering the procurement and supply profession with the authority.


His Excellency Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEWA confirmed that the MoU targeted to develop the fields of work in the procurement management and qualifying and developing the skills of the authority’s employees in providing services in the field of dealing with the system of contracts, procurement and supplies which implement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to achieve the highest standards and specialties in providing services.  

For her part, Shareefa Al Zarooni, Responsible for overseeing the authority’s procurement department, highlighted the importance of developing the procurement and supplying profession in the authority, as it represent an important tributary in preserving financial resources. She added that the authority is keen to be one of the leading institutions in the areas of its work and achieves customer satisfaction through transparency that marks its top priorities during the current stage.
