Sharjah 24: With the grand opening of the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Eastern Region -- Khorfakkan in particular -- known for its celebration of knowledge, culture and arts, has added yet another proud feather to its much decorated cap.
The new cultural attraction in Khorfakkan proves that all the projects envisioned by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah are proceeding apace with complete confidence and according to a blueprint that puts the community development at the heart of human growth. Under its visionary leadership, the Emirate is marching at a steady pace, knowing its rightful place in the past and the present and arming itself with science and culture for the future.

Located in front of the beautiful Khorfakkan Corniche, the new Amphitheatre is an edifice that complements all the colours of visual beauty and architecture and is resplendent with the most beautiful fragrances of history.  The Khorfakkan Amphitheatre stands with pride as it looks at the people of the place. It has come up at the same historical spot where our ancestors penned a great epic shining with glory that makes today's sons and daughters of the nation proud of their legacy.

Today’s children and grandchildren will view the Amphitheatre as a symbol of knowledge, arts, culture, development, beauty, and eternal attachment to heritage and ingenuity.

It is this sense of attachment and pride over their heritage this makes them an extension of previous generations that have a great history. Good education is an endless growth process, and the new generations remain immensely proud of their new legacy and of their journey of life that continues on the path of glory.

The idea of establishing the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, which stems from the objectives and farsighted vision of our leadership, goes beyond the choice of its strategic location and the beauty of its perfect structure and geometry. It represents a link from the past to the present and builds a bridge filled with passion, bringing children closer to the meanings of history that they study in the form of a practical scientific lesson in the love of the homeland and its proud past and its beautiful culture of giving.

Unlike the experience of celebrating heritage in museums, the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre offers our children and grandchildren an opportunity to live the tales of heroism and glory in the place where a sense of pride is deeply entrenched, preparing them for a more vibrant civilisation that they can share with others. These children live this fact, following the ideas and initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and what His Highness wishes them to do to build their future based on the bright spots of their proud nation's history.

The large enthusiastic crowds that we have seen throng the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre to the brim for consecutive days are a testament to the vision and sincerity of the idea behind its inception. It is an artistic cultural landmark with a unique identity and specificity and its success reflects it in its celebration of the number of major historical events that the region has experienced. These events, which have been immortalised by tales of history, have become a source of pride for scientists, scholars and community members living in an integrated cultural space.

That unique vision has been brought to reality by the insights of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the farsighted leader of our scientific, intellectual and developmental renaissance, in which the continuity of the past and the present is blended as it points to the future whose contours are being shaped by the understanding of our heritage and following it. Even if the scientific methods differ in their approach, the unity of the goal is enough, which is to serve our beloved and precious homeland.
