This came in the presence of Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the Department of Community Protection and Prevention, Brigadier General Abdullah Rashid Allay Al Naqbi, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institution, along with several officers.
The forum aims to strengthen family bonds, support inmate rehabilitation efforts, and promote their positive reintegration into society.
During the forum, 13 inmates were released after settling all outstanding amounts owed by them in cooperation with the Faraj Fund. This humanitarian initiative aims to support inmates and help them reintegrate into society.
Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Al Naour emphasised that the forum reflects the approach of the SP in strengthening family ties and promoting social harmony. He noted that reform efforts are not limited to legal matters but also encompass psychological, social, and humanitarian dimensions.
Brigadier General Abdullah Rashid Allay stated in his speech at the forum that this initiative is a positive step towards providing inmates with new opportunities, emphasising the importance of making the most of it to build a better future and strengthen family and social bonds.
The forum also encouraged communication between inmates and their families within a supportive social environment, as part of Sharjah Police’s ongoing efforts to improve the humanitarian aspect of its rehabilitation programmes.
