Sharjah's Inaugural Parents Council Forum Boosts Partnerships

Sharjah24: The primary objective of this forum was to invigorate the councils' roles within government schools and foster cohesive efforts towards refining educational outcomes and nurturing positive behaviours among students. Commencing yesterday morning at the headquarters of the Parents Council of Students, in tandem with the Emirates Foundation for School Education, this event saw the active engagement of distinguished educational leaders across various domains, unified in their advocacy for parental involvement in the educational framework.
Through the forum's proceedings, the Parents Council endeavoured to bolster the efficacy and significance of these councils in disseminating educational, moral, and health-related awareness, thereby facilitating student oversight and advancing intelligent and structured learning methodologies.

Chairing the meeting, Aisha Al Zarouni, Chair of the Excellence Committee at the Parents Council, expounded upon the councils' roles and the shared vision derived from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in propelling the councils into action.

Various salient topics were deliberated during the forum, including the refinement and enhancement of school practices, and active contribution to the execution of the school's strategic blueprint. Moreover, discussions encompassed the imperative of parental monitoring of their children's academic progress, as well as the dissemination of parental awareness regarding school regulations and codes of conduct.

The discourse also underscored the pivotal role of parent councils within schools and advocated for optimal approaches to student engagement tailored to diverse age groups.

The gathering was further enriched by the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Mualla, Chairman of the Council, who elucidated the pivotal role of educational leaders within the institution and fielded queries from council heads, with an attendance tallying 50 participants. Additionally, Maryam Jaber Al Shamsi, Vice President of the Parents Council, contributed to the deliberations through a brainstorming session aimed at refining proposals and interventions across collaborative workgroups.

Also participating were Dr. Badr Al Hosani, Head of the Educational and Teaching Committee at the Council, who shed light on the pronouncements of the Child Rights Committees at the Emirates Foundation for School Education, and Ali Salem Al Naqbi, Head of the Student Affairs Unit at the institution, who expounded upon the indispensable role of various regulatory frameworks and the Parent Charter, ensuring rights and acknowledging duties for all members of the school community.

Furthermore, Khalid Al Saroukh, President of the Parents Council of Al Khalidiya School, emphasised the significance of interaction and visits between parents, teachers, and school administrations, alongside coordination in the educational process to ensure students' success in their academic journey.
