Sharjah 24: Amal Ahmed Sultan Al Qatari Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Health Authority Department, has revealed the initiation of three-day workshops at the House of Wisdom. The objective is to designate Sharjah as child and family friendly, recognizing sustainable practices in family development and childhood support. Over 70 individuals from diverse institutions and entities in the Emirate of Sharjah were present for this announcement.
Al Suwaidi announced the launch of the "Sharjah Child and Family Friendly" accreditation by the Authority's Sharjah Child-Friendly Office. This accreditation initiative is aimed at federal and local government institutions, government and private nurseries, as well as various public and private venues such as commercial centres, museums, airports, entertainment facilities, restaurants, cafes, and more, within the Emirate of Sharjah.

Al Suwaidi emphasised that the accreditation system aims to recognise institutions and destinations that prioritise families. It seeks to establish and implement standards that enhance the quality of life for family members, comprehensively meet their needs, and adopt sustainable policies. This enables parents, families, and caregivers to actively promote, protect, and support childhood development. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to Sharjah's position as a sustainable destination, integrating child- and family-friendly strategies into its culture and policies.

The Director of the Sharjah Health Authority Department concluded urging all institutions and entities to participate in the upcoming workshops at the House of Wisdom. She encouraged them to learn from the standards presented and apply them to attain accreditation.
