SCC Committee visits the House of Wisdom

Sharjah 24: The Family Affairs Committee of Sharjah Consultative Council visited the House of Wisdom, in the city of Sharjah, as part of its plan for the first regular session of the eleventh legislative term, and held its meeting to discuss its works and visions in supporting the family system in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The committee visit included Saeed Matar bin Hamid Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, members of the Committee, Abdullah Al Badawi Al Hosani, Abdullah Maaden Al Ketbi, Abdullah bin Tarish Al Kaabi, Muhammad Al Alawi Al Dhahouri, Hamid Obaid Al Hamoudi, and Dr. Hind Al Hajri, in addition to the presence of Halima Al- Owais, Vice-President of the Council, Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the Council, from the General Secretariat of the Council, Hoda Al Hammadi, Secretary of the Committee, and Islam Al Shiwi, media expert.

During the visit, the committee was briefed on the contents of the House of Wisdom, which embodies the latest model for future libraries in the world. The committee learned about the latest books and toured throughout the building, looking at the huge library it contains, which includes thousands of books in various cultural, literary and cognitive fields.

The committee held a meeting during its presence at the House of Wisdom and discussed the different plans and visions in support of the family project undertaken by the Emirate of Sharjah, in addition to its communication with the institutions and authorities concerned with the family to strengthen the family system, care for its members, identify their needs, and strengthen the bonds of social relations.

The committee decided to continue visiting the entities affiliated with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, in addition to the suburban councils, and closely review their efforts and programmes to achieve the comprehensive vision of caring for all members of society and providing various aspects of services to support and develop the family entity as a basic unit in building a developed and prosperous society.
