Sharqiya Kalba TV launches new programmes in May

Sharjah 24: Sharqiya Kalba TV, affiliated with the Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA), continues to amaze its audience during the month of May with a wide range of programmes that shed light on different economic, social and heritage topics as part of its message aimed at introducing the development taking place in the region, linking the rising generations to the heritage and traditions of their fathers, and consolidating the historical heritage.
Sharqiya Kalba TV launched a distinctive programme under the title “From the Market.” The programme that aims to support local projects in the Eastern Region and introduce the public to the diversity and quality of local products. It also examines the challenges that these projects faced when they were launched and how they were overcome until they became a reality that supports the local economy and provides jobs for the youth of the region and promoting local tourism. The programme episodes are shot in a number of distinctive markets in the region, such as Al Hosn Market, the Kalba Heritage Market, and the old market in the city of Khorfakkan, in addition to the shops in Shees Rest House, where project owners and craftsmen are hosted to present their products. The programme is produced by Maryam Al Zarouni and is broadcast Monday to Thursday at 19:00


When it comes to innovation and creativity, the “Ala Fekra” (By the way) programme is one of the prominent programmes that highlights those wonderful stories whose owners succeeded in making our lives easier, better and safer through inventions and creativity in different fields that directly affected our lives. The programme offers the audience of Sharqiya Kalba TV a unique opportunity to discover the history and stories of the ideas whose owners contributed to significantly improving our lives by showcasing a variety of inventions and innovations and displaying interesting stories of creative minds and their innovations, which usually begin with a simple idea before it turns into a great achievement that contributes to changing the course of humanity towards the best. The programme is produced and presented by Fahd Heikal and is broadcast from Friday to Sunday at 19:00.


“Fawala Al Asr” programme continues to impose itself as one of the most important heritage programmes broadcast by Sharqiya Kalba TV. The programme embodies a custom that was widespread among women in the past and still exists in some areas, where a group of women gather in one home and each woman prepares a plate of food and enjoys chatting. This beautiful custom is an opportunity to enhance communication and bonding between women. The programme has a share of its name, as “fawala” is an old Emirati name that means what is presented to the guest, such as fruit, sweets, and other things. The programme is produced by Fatima Al Mazrouei and presented by Aisha Al Ansari, and is broadcast every Saturday at 17:00.

The "Arabic Calligraphy" programme provides a detailed explanation of the history of Arabic Calligraphy art, its development, names and elements by hosting a pioneer of Arabic calligraphy. The programme not only meets professionals, but also encourages amateurs to make their own way and go far in this beautiful art. The programme is produces by Hani Suleiman and presented by Abdullah Al Astad, and is broadcast every Saturday at 20:00.

The Eastern Region is full of a wide range of talented poets and writers who express their cultural heritage and personal experiences through poetry. The “Poets from the Eastern Region” programme comes to shed light on these distinguished poets and gives them the opportunity to appear and introduce their poems to a wide audience, which enhances the love of poetry and culture that is still alive in the Eastern Region thanks to its poets who have preserved this diverse heritage. The programme is produced by Ahmed Al Sayed and presented by Sultan Al Shaer and Tarek Belhai, and is broadcast every Friday at 20:00.

The “Zel Al Samra” programme returns to impose itself once again on the programming network of Sharqiya Kalba TV, as part of the channel’s interest in consolidating the historical heritage. The programme delves into different heritage topics. In each episode, Mohammed Al Belushi hosts three elderly figures and chats with them on topics that shed light on ancient life in the cities of the Eastern Region and makes the viewer discover the ways of life, work, and trade in ancient times. The programme is produced by Maryam Al Zarouni and is broadcast every Monday at 20:00.

In a beautiful session on the seashore, “Ala Al Sifah” (on the shore) programme sheds light on the ancient marine life that ancestors lived, and takes the viewer on an enjoyable historical journey through which they discover ancient marine adventures and experiences. The audience of Sharqiya Kalba TV, accompanied by broadcaster Omar Ahmed, learns about the methods and ways of dealing with the challenges and risks faced by Emirati sailors on their sea voyages, which gives the programme an atmosphere of suspense and excitement. The programme is produced by Maryam Al Zarouni and is broadcast every Wednesday at 20:00.
