Discussing the danger of stray animals in the central region

Sharjah 24: The Central Region Police discussed with Sharjah Camel Racing Club and the municipalities of the Central Region the dangers of stray animals on the internal and external roads in the cities of the Central Region. The discussion included developing the necessary plans to ensure the security and safety of road users and preserve lives.
The meeting also discussed the accident response plan related to stray animals.
The meeting was chaired by Colonel Humaid Saeed Al Jallaf Al Shuwaihi, Director of the Central Region Police Department; Colonel Khalifa Musabah Al Khasouni, Head of Al Dhaid Police Station; and Colonel Salem Masoud Al Tunaiji, Head of the Licensing and Machinery Department; in the presence of His Excellency Matar Ali bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, President of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club; His Excellency Saeed Maadhad bin Howaiden Al-Ketbi, head of the security and control department in the municipality of Al Madam; and a number of representatives of the municipalities of the central region.

At the meeting, analytical statistics on the phenomenon of traffic accidents were reviewed according to the type of collision with an animal, “camels.” Traffic accident injuries related to stray animals were also reviewed, the plan to confront stray animal accidents was discussed, and security coverage in all areas of the cities of the central region by police patrols in confronting the dangers of stray animals. The meeting also discussed the most prominent challenges and recommendations in this regard, in addition to reviewing a number of initiatives and interim plans and enhancing cooperation with the competent authorities and bodies to reduce accidents related to stray animals.

At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency Matar Ali bin Howaiden Al Ketbi praised the efforts of Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC), represented by the Central Region Police Department and the municipalities of the Central Region, to reduce the dangers of stray animals, the occurrence of traffic accidents, and the dangers of their crossing on the roads, stressing the continuation and redoubling of efforts by all concerned parties to do so within a number of different initiatives and efforts, and conducting awareness campaigns to uncover the dangers resulting from the presence of stray animals on the roads and in populated residential areas.
