SCC to discuss heavy rain’s aftermath on Thursday

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council has called for an emergency dialogue session to address the aftermath of the recent heavy rainfall that affected various cities and regions of the emirate. As a leading societal platform and voice for citizens and residents, the council has a responsibility to discuss the implications of this natural disaster.
The session is scheduled for Thursday morning, April 25, at the council's headquarters in Sharjah, and will be chaired by Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council. The discussion will focus on strengthening climate change policies and their impact on the environment, health, and social aspects of the Emirate of Sharjah. The infrastructure and its various equipment will also be reviewed.

The council is expected to formulate recommendations that enhance institutional performance and human capabilities, as well as develop effective policies to confront climate challenges and reduce their impacts. This aligns with the council's commitment to strengthening the crisis and risk management system in the emirate.
