SCI opens Nasser Salem Tanaf Al Kaabi Mosque in Shawka

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) and the General Authority Of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Ras Al Khaimah branch), opened, on Monday “Nasser Salem Tanaf Al Kaabi” Mosque, built in the Shawka area at a cost of 1.9 million dirhams, with the support of philanthropists as part of community participation and building houses of God.
The mosque was built on an area of 686 square metres, and can accommodate 350 worshipers, men and women. It also includes a number of service facilities, toilets and ablutions, in addition to a bathroom designated for people of determination and parking lots. The design of the mosque also includes a residence for the imam and another for the muezzin.

The opening of the mosque was attended by officials of both sides and the people of the region.

Dr. Muhammad bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Director of SCI in Al Dhaid, said that the mosque is one of the most pioneering projects in light of the joint cooperation programmes with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, as well as the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, and SCI seeks to establish more mosques within “building the houses of God” project, especially within new residential areas.

Dr. Muhammad bin Howaiden Al Ketbi stressed that the mosque will be added to the list of mosques that SCI built with the support and contributions of philanthropists, in different areas in Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Sharjah. 

Dr. Muhammad bin Howaiden Al Ketbi expressed his thanks to those who contributed and participated in this great project, and those who contributed to building a house in which the name of God is mentioned and in which the call to prayer is raised until the Day of Resurrection.

Following the opening of the mosque, the officials of SCI, the Department of Islamic Affairs, and residents of the region performed the noon prayer, and the attendees exchanged congratulations on the opening of the mosque, as it was now ready to perform prayers. In conclusion, an honouring shield was handed over from the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Ras Al Khaimah Branch, to Sharjah Charity International.
