Khaled Al Midaf receives Nat’l Coach Abdullah Hatem, Omar Yasser

Sharjah 24: Khaled Issa Al Midaf, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, in the presence of Engineer Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Games, Captain Abdullah Hatem Al Mazmi, Technical Director of the club's Taekwondo, and the club player and Palestine national team, Omar Yasser, on the occasion of the great achievement accomplished by the player in qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The club’s player and the Palestine national team, Omar Yasser, who grew up and was nurtured at the club, officially qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics under the leadership of the Emirati coach, Abdullah Hatem, after participating in the final Asian qualifiers in China. He becomes the second player presented by Sharjah Sports Club to participate in the Olympics after the club's player for athletics, Mohamed Hassan Al-Noubi who participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

During the reception held at the club’s management headquarters in Samnan, Al Midaf praised the great work being done in the management of individual games and the numerous achievements made in recent years, stating that the achievement is a source of pride for everyone affiliated with the club. It's an accomplishment attributed to the teamwork of the management and coaching staff, commending the spirit and determination of the player and his great ambition that led him to the Olympics.

The Vice President explained that the club's management derives its directives from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which reflects a culture of appreciation and honouring for achievers, whether in the emirate or the wider UAE. This vision is what we trace to appreciate those who achieve success and make accomplishments among the club members and celebrate them to motivate them to achieve more in the future.

Al Midaf expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for the significant role it has played in promoting individual games and evolving them to advanced levels in recent years, emphasising that they, at Sharjah Sports Club always, strive to achieve accomplishments through the concerted efforts of all parties involved, whether administratively, technically, or among the players themselves.

On this occasion, Al Midaf presented the duo with souvenirs bearing the Olympic logo with the names of the coach and the player and certificates of appreciation, wishing them success and luck in their Olympic journey, which will begin next summer in France.

On his part, Engineer Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri extended congratulations to the Palestine national team on the occasion of the qualification of Sharjah Sports Club player, Omar Yasser, for the Paris 2024 Olympics under the leadership of national coach Abdullah Hatem, pointing out that “King's Castle” is rich with outstanding players. He wished the player and the coach success and luck in the Olympics.
