Sharjah24: Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, the Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and livestock, affirmed that the second season of wheat harvesting at the farm in Mleiha has been completed, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah.

Al Tunaiji, revealed the opening of the administrative building of the wheat farm, which is an architectural masterpiece including a laboratory for biotechnological techniques for hybridization and selection of the Sharjah 1 wheat strain, which will be one of the finest types of wheat in the world.

Al Tunaiji explained in statements to "Sharjah 24" that the wheat farm in Mleiha includes an experimental farm that houses 550 varieties of wheat from different parts of the world to select the best genetic strains and characteristics of wheat, propagate them, and integrate them into the Sharjah 1 wheat strain.

It is worth mentioning that the second and third phases have been merged to encompass the entire 1,900-hectare wheat farm, and the latest agricultural techniques have been used to achieve the best crops. Sharjah wheat is known for having the highest protein content and is free from insecticides, toxins, and harmful substances to health.
