Sharjah24: Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi inaugurated the 39th Annual Exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society on Wednesday evening at the Sharjah Art Museum, under the theme of "Anticipation".
Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi toured the exhibition halls, acquainting himself with the participating works from various artistic schools.  The artists showcased their talents in painting, oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, photography, mixed media, ceramics, diverse sculpture, and naturalistic representations such as the sea and the desert. These artistic concepts reflect the richness and diversity of the exhibition from one edition to another.

Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi listened to detailed explanations from the participating artists about their works, the artistic concepts they embody, different preparation and presentation techniques, and the importance of personal experiences and their evolution. This enriches the annual exhibition of the society as one of the distinguished art events that adorn the artistic landscape in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The current edition was held in collaboration with the Department of Culture and the Sharjah Museums Authority and is being participated by 55 leading Emirati and resident artists who are members of the Emirates Fine Arts Society. They present 130 diverse artworks. Additionally, artists Mahmoud Al Ramahi, Ahmed Sharif, and Nasser Nasrallah participate as evaluators of the exhibition. The exhibition also includes the participation of students from the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah, showcasing their artistic works that highlight their creativity in this major art event and contribute to enriching their experience, showcasing their talents, and exchanging experiences with other participating artists. This also stimulates cultural and artistic dialogue in the local community and demonstrates the impact of educational institutions and their influence in the art field in Sharjah.

The concept and theme of the exhibition, "Anticipation," celebrate distinguished experiences and models of Emirati artists. It emphasizes that artworks should have a visionary dimension that pushes the artist to surpass the visual boundaries and constraints around them. It acknowledges the artistic and philosophical challenges that artists face, requiring bold creativity that poses new questions and allows artists to discover the limits of art and test their creative abilities. This is achieved through deep introspection into oneself and its role in life, utilizing the available means, materials, and techniques to express culture, history, time, and place in which the artist originated.

On the sidelines of the exhibition opening, Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi honored artists Ahmed Hailouz and Abdul Karim Sukkar.

Dr. Mohammed Youssef, the President of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, delivered a speech after the exhibition opening, highlighting the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi,  Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah, for the Emirati art movement and his encouragement of artists in all fields to continue their contributions. He expressed gratitude to the Head of the Ruler's Office for graciously inaugurating the annual exhibition, honoring the artists, and to all the partners and supporters of the society for their involvement in all its events and activities.

Dr. Mohammed Youssef praised the significant roles that the Emirates Fine Arts Society has played over the past decades in nurturing the arts, organizing exhibitions, providing opportunities for artists, and bringing together generations of artists in the language of art. This has contributed to the development of the arts, nurturing talents, and emphasized the importance of honoring artists as a motivation and reinforcement for all those interested in arts and culture.
