Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Security Fund launched its first workshop for 2024, allocated to Sharjah government employees from the central departments, highlighting the aspects of pension disbursement.

Held at Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, the workshop familiarised the attendees with all the rights and privileges of pensions, the controls for registration in the fund and its stages, and the disbursement of benefits to the insured.

The speakers at the workshop discussed the statement on the implementation of Law No. 5 of 2018 regarding social security in Sharjah, the effective date of the law since November 2, 2017, the system's subscription controls, funding sources, the subscription account salary, and the date of payment, subscription payment dates, insurance subscription periods, vacation controls, secondments, sick leave, and transfer controls.

Several topics were addressed during the workshop, such as the concept of social insurance, professional and social risks, the risks covered by the system, the stages of developing insurance protection, the social insurance umbrella, and the system's features.

The workshop addressed the topic of "rewards" as it is one of the best end-of-service reward systems, from the death of the insured person entitled to the reward, leading to compensations and grants.
