“Fikr Wa Qalam” continues the literary journey on Sharjah TV

Sharjah 24: “Fikr Wa Qalam” (Thought and Pen) programme, broadcast on Sharjah TV, enters its fourth season, continuing its cultural journey with the most prominent Arab writers, reviewing their intellectual career and highlighting their books that adorn Arab and international libraries.
The programme, which comes in cooperation with Sharjah Book Authority, has become a literary platform that discusses the most prominent issues on the literary and poetic scene; analyses publishing in the Arab world;, and reveals to viewers valuable information on writers, circumstances affecting them, their first experiences in writing, their literary orientations, and their future projects. 

The season will start with Jordanian writer, novelist, and playwright Hazza Al Barari, who has won several literary awards that crowned his prolific production, such as “The Eternal Mountain”, “Eve Once More”, “The Crows”, and the short story collection “The Possessed”. He also wrote scripts for several series and plays, which will be discussed, in the first episode, on Thursday.

During this season, the rich literary journey will continue, by hosting a large number of Arab writers who having an important cultural and intellectual meeting with Sharjah TV audience, including Dr. Aisha Al Darmaki from the Sultanate of Oman, Tariq Al Tayeb from Sudan, Mufleh Al Adwan from Jordan, Dr. Munther Al Qabbani from Saudi Arabia, Hassan Al Wazzani from Morocco, Tariq Imam from Egypt, Najm Wali from Iraq, Ibrahim Al Koni from Libya, Ibrahim Abu Talib from Yemen, and novelist Bashir Mufti from Algeria.

Each “Fikr Wa Qalam” episode lasts 50 minutes, focusing at the beginning on introducing the guest upbringing, childhood, and the environment he was influenced by, passing through his most prominent literary publications, in addition to discussing the most prominent cultural issues and challenges facing the publishing sector.

During this season, the programme will be presented by journalist Alia Al Mansouri, produced and prepared by Noura Al Qassab Al Muhairi, and directed by Adam Al Sammadi, and will be broadcast every Thursday at 9:15 pm.

Ms. Aida Butti, Programming Director at Sharjah TV, stated that the success of the programme, during the previous seasons, encouraged Sharjah TV to continue its production being an intellectual and cultural meeting awaited by literature lovers, whereas it provides an open space that sheds light on writers and their intellectual and literary production.

Aida Butti added Sharjah TV is committed to providing programming content that inspires and enriches minds; and is ready to host an elite group of literary figures who have left a distinctive mark in this field. 

Aida Butti concluded that cannot fail to commend the fruitful cooperation with Sharjah Book Authority, which contributed strongly to the success of the programme, which provides a qualitative addition to Sharjah TV wide audience.
