DeG secures tier III gold for 2nd year running

Sharjah24: For the second consecutive year, the Sharjah Department of eGovernment has received the Level III Gold Operational Sustainability Certificate, reaffirming its dedication to delivering reliable, secure, and efficient services. This accomplishment reflects the effectiveness of the data centre's design, guaranteeing the provision of top-tier services by embracing sustainable practices and providing an operational environment that conserves resources and minimises environmental impact.
The "Tier III Gold" Operational Sustainability Certificate is globally acknowledged as one of the highest standards in assessing the eco-friendly technology performance of data centers. Granted by the Uptime Institute, specialising in information and data facilities, this certification offers accredited data center owners and operators a thorough classification and evaluation of their performance through audits and operational capability, infrastructure, and innovative solutions testing, ensuring excellence and sustained operational efficiency.

Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Director General of the Department of e-Government highlighted ongoing efforts to develop clear strategies and invest in available resources for improving service levels and quality. The department adheres to global administrative and operational standards, ensuring efficiency and keeping abreast of the latest technologies for operational continuity.

The Director-General acknowledged the department's well-deserved recognition for the second consecutive year with the Tier III Gold Operational Sustainability Certificate. This recognition is attributed to the advanced design of the data centre, allowing maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring without impacting core operations while meeting security and protection requirements.
