SIAD inaugurates Al-Mutawakkil Mosque in Al-Rahmaniyah

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department (SIAD) inaugurated “Al-Mutawakkil” Mosque in the Kashisha 1 area in the Al-Rahmaniyah suburb, which can accommodate 600 worshipers, as part of the department’s mission in the emirate and its continuous efforts to translate the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide a decent life for the residents of the emirate, and constructing all facilities and services that will enhance stability and achieve comprehensive urban renaissance in the suburbs and cities of the emirate.
The inaugurating was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yaroof Al-Sabousi, Head of the Islamic Affairs Department, a number of Islamic Affairs officials, and the people of the region, where they toured around the mosque and viewed its facilities.

The Mosque was built according to the Islamic architectural style mixed with modern character, topped with two 40-meter-high minarets and a circular dome in the middle.

The mosque was built on a total land area of 2,694 square metres including the prayer hall and its service facilities, ablutions, bathrooms, and housing for the imam. The prayer hall can accommodate 600 worshippers, including 65 for the women’s prayer hall.

The head of the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department pointed out that the opening of Al-Mutawakkil Mosque, which was built at the expense of a philanthropist, comes within the department’s ongoing efforts to keep pace with the urban development and population increase in the  region to meet the needs of its residents and enable them to perform rituals with ease and reassurance, appreciating the efforts and initiatives of philanthropists in the emirate.
