Sharjah 24: The Media Cultural Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah presents the play “The Night Before the Last” on the Cultural Palace stage, over the course of three days, on October 9 to 11.
The general public is invited, and the play is produced by the “Family Theatre Team” in the Media Cultural Office, and performed by actors Baddour and Fatima Abdullah.

The play reflects the psychological and social aspects and dimensions of a mother, when the last of her children leaves her alone, haunted by obsessions. One night before marriage, a dialogue takes place between her and her daughter, who is about to get married and leave for her husband’s house. They talk about the memories and challenges they faced, due to the presence of the father or his absence. As the girl prepares for marriage, a surprise occurs to the audience.

The play was previously shown in the Kingdom of Morocco, where the office participated, through the Family Theatre, in the Arab Creative Women’s Forum, with the aim of exchanging experiences and mutual trust between the two parties. The play was well received by the audience and critics.

The play was also presented during a ceremony honouring the winners of the Sharjah Award for Gulf Women’s Creativity in its fifth edition.

It is noteworthy that the Media Cultural Office is also preparing to present the play “The Hour of Tarsheed” next November at the Cultural Palace Theatre. The play is produced by the office’s family theatre team in cooperation with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWGA). The play aims to raise awareness of the ideal methods and behaviours for using energy. The invitation will also be General to the public.
