Sharjah24: In cooperation with seven private companies, the fifth Job Fair was organised to create job opportunities for individuals receiving social assistance.

The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), through its Professional Support Programme, successfully hosted the fifth Job Fair with the primary goal of offering employment prospects to recipients of social assistance who are affiliated with the Social Security Department in the region. This event took place at the Sheraton Sharjah Hotel.

The event featured the active participation of seven private sector companies and institutions from Sharjah, Dubai, and Fujairah. Its primary objective was to provide suitable job openings for eligible candidates who meet specific criteria, such as being beneficiaries of social assistance in Sharjah, being under the age of 45, and possessing the ability to work. Additionally, the Sharjah Human Resources Department contributed to the event to support job seekers in securing positions within the participating companies.

Amna Al Hammadi, Director of the Professional Support Programme at SSSD, stressed the significance of this exhibition within the "Opportunity" programme. The exhibition targeted 76 individuals with limited incomes who were part of the registered list, paving the way for them to attend interviews and submit their CVs for available job opportunities.

The programme's overarching aim is to foster sustainable skills, experiences, and capabilities among its participants, enabling them to enhance their skillsets and become productive members of society while ensuring a decent standard of living. It also strives to promote principles of social justice and social responsibility among both private and government institutions, while instilling a culture of innovation and strategic planning, thereby enabling beneficiaries to acquire valuable professional experience.
