Sharjah 24: As part of its efforts to foster institutional integration, Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) conducted an interactive training programme for homeless children, in partnership with the Department of Social Services.
The session took place at the Wasit Wetland Centre.

The session was aimed at youngsters as an expression of the award's attempts to partner with other institutions in teaching volunteer ideals among diverse sectors.

The major purpose of the workshop, led by Ms Sheikha Al-Surkal, Coordinator of Community Engagement and Awareness at the SAVW, was to promote awareness about the importance of volunteer work and its beneficial impact on fostering social integration.

The engaging program included training youngsters on how to recycle plastic water bottles and creatively turn them into bird feeders, helping with environmental preservation and animal conservation.

Fatima Musa Al-Belushi, the Executive Director of the award, stressed the award's dedication to providing such seminars for this group of youngsters, especially those missing social welfare. This demonstrates the award's role in assisting those individuals, encouraging social integration, and instilling exemplary values in them.
