Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and Honorary President of the Emirates Writers Union (EWU), met, on Sunday, the chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers Union, at the Sharjah Book Authority.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed the attendees, praising the roles of the Emirates Writers Union in supporting the cultural movement and developing society in various aspects of thought and knowledge.



The meeting dealt with a number of issues related to the work and activities of the union and its various events, and ways to support Emirati writers and cultural exchange between them.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah directed to pay attention to the new and emerging generation of Emirati writers, supporting them to develop their literary and cultural production, and involving them in the various events and activities that are organised in the literary arena with different generations in order to exchange experiences and develop their levels.



His Highness stressed the importance of taking care of the publishing content, and paying attention to it in a way that contributes to the advancement of society and individuals and increases their knowledge and cultural awareness.



For their part, the chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers Union valued the support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the union, His Highness's constant interest in it and His Highness’s directives to support the development and progress of the union in all fields, motivating them to work further in the literary and cultural fields.
