Sharjah24: The Sharjah Directorate Public Works (SDPW) completed an integrated livestock market in Al Dhaid and handed it to Sharjah Asset Management for operation. It coincided with the advent of Ramadan.

Eng. Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Director of the Department's Branches Department, said that the livestock market covers 30,000 square metres and includes a modern slaughterhouse on an area of 2,088 square metres.

The slaughterhouse is characterised by applying several standards, including compliance with the requirements of greenhouses approved by the department, considering the systems of preserving the environment by reducing heat emissions, and following a central cleaning system for slaughterhalls, thus reducing the use of cleaning equipment and materials.

The slaughterhouse uses solar energy instead of fuel in heating water to rationalize expenditures. It also has a station for sterilising hands and cleaning shoes at the entrance to the hall.

It includes the latest technologies following the highest health safety conditions.
