Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Petroleum Council has organised a meeting with the owners and operators of oil, gas and hydrocarbon pipelines in the Emirate of Sharjah to discuss the Executive Council's decision to ensure the validity and safety of these pipelines.
Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Eng. Hatem Diab Al Mosa, Secretary General of the Sharjah Petroleum Council pointed out that this law comes after a law issued in 2018, to protect these lines from external dangers, and now this law protects external parties, the population and the environment from the impact of any accident that may affect these lines.

Al Mosa added that Sharjah is a pioneer in this field and a frontrunner in issuing a law of this kind, when most of countries issue such laws after accidents affecting the environment and loss of life and property, but thank God, Sharjah issued this law anticipating anything of this kind to ensure no future accidents.

He pointed out that during the meeting, the mechanisms for applying this law were discussed, and we found a great response from all operators who expressed their views on the methods of its implementation, and we are now looking forward to full cooperation between the Petroleum Council and all operators to ensure the safety and suitability of these pipelines and the safety of both the people and the environment.
