Xposure reveals depth of creativity via wilderness

Sharjah24: In its new edition, Xposure focuses through its lenses on the life of the wilderness. The two hosted photographers, Pedro Jarque Krebs and Novandro Manik, showcase their creativity about nature.
As part of his involvement with "Xposure 2023," Indonesian photographer Novandro Manik, who specialises in producing stunning shots of betta fish, introduced himself as a photographer from Jakarta, Indonesia, and his work revealed a previously unseen facet of betta fish.

The Siamese fighting fish (Betta fish) may be known for its aggressive nature, but its aesthetic potential is why I've chosen to host an exhibition of these fish today.

I did an indoor photography of that beauty since I couldn't leave the house due to the pandemic, which is why I chose that alternative.

Instead of a human or a woman, I chose to change my emphasis and make a betta fish my model.

It's really that simple. To minimise the need for additional artificial lighting, I installed mirrors above.

Pedro Jarque Krebs is a photographer born in Lima, Peru, specialising in animal portraits. He aims to show the beauty and fragility of the wilderness. He flew to Sharjah to be part of Xposure, a phenomenal platform for artistic photographers.

Jarque’s corner in Xposure displays images of endangered animal species to a certain extent, such as the Peruvian jaguars, the Philippines’ fruit flying foxes, and many other animal species.

He stated to “Sharjah 24” that in order to take the shots to create his art, he has to be close, distance-wise, to the animals, spending countless hours for the right moment to pop.

The Peruvian photographer’s subjects are primarily animals held in captivities, sanctuaries, or any other place that permits having contact with the animals.
