Sharjah 24: Khaled Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, said that the authority is now looking for distinguished events and that all means can be used to promote Sharjah as a tourist, cultural, and family destination that shows off the things that Sharjah has to offer.

He told “Sharjah 24” that the idea for the Sharjah International Footgolf and Paddle Tennis Championships had been brewing for over a year, because the hybrid sport of footgolf has a large audience and international players, especially in Europe, East Asia, and the Americas, and because Sharjah is organising and hosting the event for the first time in the Middle East, which helps to promote the Emirate of Sharjah's tourism product.
