Sharjah24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has issued a decree on Wednesday mandating the establishment of a facility dedicated to the treatment of mental illnesses.

His Highness explained on the "Direct Line" programme, hosted by Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, that this facility will perform semi-custodial work for mental patients, overseeing the necessary sedation doses and returning them safely to their families.

 

When a father expressed concern about his son's mental health, His Highness reminded him that providing psychological and physical monitoring of patients is one of the centre’s primary responsibilities.
