Sharjah24: Sharjah City Municipality organised, in its main building in Al Musalla area, a workshop on the unified smart building index, in the presence of the Department of Municipal Affairs and representatives of the municipalities of the cities of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Director of the Building Permits Department, stressed that this workshop aims to enhance cooperation and coordination with the Department of Municipal Affairs and all municipalities of the cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, to standardize and facilitate procedures, reflecting the emirate’s role in relying on digital and smart technologies in providing Services to the engineering community.

He explained that the smart building index aims to achieve the goals of the UAE's national agenda, and is applied by the Emirate of Sharjah as an important part of the engineering work system, within the framework of its adoption of the best international and modern standards in the fields of construction and building.

During the workshop, Eng. Hassan Al Mazmi addressed many topics that embody the importance of applying the unified smart building index, and how to cooperate with other municipalities in this field.
