Sharjah 24: Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) is taking part in the 41st edition of Sharjah International Book Fair held from November 2 to 13 under the theme ‘Spread the Word’.

With its pavilion that consist of two stands, SMA aims to bring focus to the significance of museums as an integral part of culture and an awareness-raising force in regards to the cultural sphere. 

It also hopes to emphasise the importance of preserving heritage while promoting cross-cultural dialogue by inviting members of the public from across the globe to visit its museums. 

The authority’s first stand will be dedicated to share its latest publications with visitors to the Book Fair while the second stand will be introducing the public to its latest exhibition “Sacred Words, Timeless Calligraphy: Highlights of Exceptional Calligraphy from the Hamid Jafar Qur’an Collection” held currently at Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization. 

Images of some of the rarest Quran manuscripts ever found that are featured at the exhibition, will be shown on large screen to encourage the public to visit the exhibition which runs until 19 March 2023.

SMA said its participation is part of the Authority’s efforts aimed at maintaining strong engagement with the public and broadening strategic partnerships with different local and international entities.
