Sharjah24: His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, attended on Monday at Al Qasimia University, the launch of the second phase of the program “Management and implementation of future projects” , organised by the Strategy and Performance Development Department of Sharjah Police, in cooperation with the Future Lab Foundation.

The opening was attended by Lt. Col. Sameh Al-Halyan, Deputy Director of the Strategy and Performance Development Department, Lt. Col. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Naqbi, Director of the Training Department at the Academy of Police Sciences, Lt. Col. Abdullah Alai, Head of Wasit Comprehensive Police Station, and future expert Derek, Director of the Future Lab Foundation, and expert Hela, along with a number of specialized officers from different departments.


Major General Saif Al Shamsi praised the efforts made by the strategy and performance development department in this program and emphasized the importance of anticipating the future through the best possible exploitation of present opportunities and achieving readiness for future challenges, in line with the UAE's strategy to foresee the future.


For his part, Dr. Derek Woodgate, Director of the Future Lab Foundation, reviewed the mechanism of the program, as it will be implemented in three phases, namely, a review of the future scenarios journey, the practices of foresight and future thinking and the methods used, and understanding weak signals, wild cards, and disruptive divergent thinking techniques used for the future.
