University of Sharjah to celebrate its Silver Jubilee on Saturday

Sharjah24: In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UOS) , the university is set to celebrate its Silver Jubilee on Saturday, 22th October, 2022, at 7:30 pm, in front of the UOS’s main campus.
UOS marking the 25th anniversary of its establishment, with the participation of a large number of officials, directors and heads of federal and governmental authorities from various emirates of the country.

Majid Al-Jarwan, Vice Chancellor for Public Relations and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, stressed that the celebration includes various shows and festive activities such as the unveiling of the monument built in front of the UOS’s main campus, in addition to the light projection mapping show which illustrates the establishment of the university, it’s colleges, scientific institutes and their evolution to this day, besides special shows and surprises, which will be revealed during the celebration.

He added that this celebration marks the UOS’s local and international remarkable achievements accomplished over the past 25 years, and reflects the University’s keenness to promote its global position by partnering and cooperating with various local and international academic institutes, universities and advanced research institutes, pointing out that the UoS in partnership with all government, private bodies and institutes, has provided scientific research services for the local community, which has contributed towards the advancement of the society, stating that the UOS’s graduates has reached around 40 thousand graduates from various disciplines and are now running the highest positions in their field of work not just within the country, but also in their hometown around the globe. In addition, they are working on conveying what they have gained of professional experiences and scientific knowledge from the University, as well as contributing to the development and prosperity of their countries.

Al-Jarwan has pointed out that the celebration will continue throughout the academic year, and will include many activities, contests, seminars and conferences, with the participation of various UOS’s colleges and the support of numerous local entities.
