Sharjah24: "In light of the acceleration and changes that take place in all societies, "statistics" emerges as one of the most important elements of development, representing the mirror of governments to monitor the development of population data and an integrated picture of the components of society to form a basis on which accurate scientific research depends, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD), on the 20th of October, World Statistics Day.
"Sharjah's vision in the "Sharjah 2022 Census" project stems from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi's visions and aspirations to put human beings on the priority list of development plans, and to incorporate graphic information into setting development policies that aim to achieve the well-being of the community attempting to establish Sharjah as a global tourism, residence, investment, and employment destination," he added.

"We call on the Sharjah community, including citizens, residents, and investors, to work with a group of field researchers carefully selected by the Department of Statistics and Community Development to deal with the various components of the emirate's residents, emphasising that the information they provide is strictly confidential, and is used only for the purposes of statistics and development, through which the Government of Sharjah seeks to build on success," he continued.
