Sharjah24: Salem bin Darwish, Director of Government Communication and Support Services Department at the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD) in Sharjah, announced the Sharjah Census 2022 project's launch intending to strengthen comprehensive plans in the emirate.

He stated, in exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24", that the project is divided into three phases: the first is a comprehensive census of all buildings and their components. The second phase is collecting population data using self-enumeration through an electronic form, starting in October. The final phase is a population census covering those who missed the second phase, which will be in January 2023.
