IGCF discusses breaking biases in communication in media

Sharjah 24: In cooperation with the Nama Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA) , Sharjah Business Women Council - SBWC, a dialogue session was organised on Wednesday titled " Breaking Biases in Communication", as part of the activities of the 11th edition of the International Forum for Government Communication.
Experts and executives from global institutions discussed a number of issues related to stereotypes in the media and how to break them, in a dialogue session at the "Inspirational Eve" hall, as part of the activities of the opening day of IGCF 2022.

Among the participants in the session were Jawaher Abdelhamid, Interim Head of Public Policy, Twitter, MENA, and Shahir Sirry Global Creative Director at Aramex. The session was moderated by Noura Al Mulla, Senior Programme Executive at the Foundation."

Jawaher Abdelhamid said that the International Government Communication Forum represents a great opportunity for communication between the public, governments and international companies in the fields of communication and media.

She added that, during the session, she reviewed Twitter's keenness to empower women through its social networking platform, starting with updating the policies of addressing women in a way that respects their gender breaking the stereotype of speaking in a male language.
