SCFA, UOS to launch activities of Sehati conference in November

Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), the 9th edition of Sehati (My Health) conference will be launched on the 15th and 16th of November, 2022, under the theme “Towards a Healthy Life”, organized by the Health Promotion Department (HPD) at the SCFA in collaboration with the College of Health Science (CHS) at the University of Sharjah (UOS).
Her Excellency Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department, pointed that Sehati conference is one of the significant events organized within the HPD’s continuous keenness to promote health awareness among community members and support the UAE’s efforts in building a sustainable and healthy future, stating that the conference aims to raise awareness on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle by presenting various medical statistics and other health topics of interests to the community members, highlighting the programs and services of the Health Promotion Department and volunteering opportunities offered by other healthcare organizations, as well as discussing the best health practices.

For his part, Prof. Mohamad Alameddine, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, UOS, and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, stated that the conference will shed light on important topics that affects the health of society members, aiming to adopt the recommendations which will guide evidence based decision making related to health in the Emirate of Sharjah, the United  Arab Emirates and neighboring countries, pointing that the CHS is honored to build on the strategic partnership with HPD at the SCFA by hosting Sehati conference at the UOS’s headquarters, in the presence of a number of leading scholars and researchers.

The conference will include several sessions delivered by a large group of doctors and specialists from various local and international institutes, who will discuss several health issues that affect a healthy lifestyle by presenting the participant's experiences while addressing four main themes including physical, mental, digital health and supportive environment for health.
