Sharjah24: A delegation from the summer centre of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club visited the Arabic Language Education Centre for the Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah at its headquarters in the university city.

The centre was keen to organise a series of cultural activities in addition to activities in the field of Arabic language and literature.

The visit is part of the summer activity “Our Holiday is Different”, organized by the Mleiha Club under the umbrella of the Sharjah Sports Council.

The delegation, headed by Abdullah Al Ajeed Al Ketbi, Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Cultural Committee and Head of the Summer Activities in the Club, received rich programmes, which reflected the integration of the activities and goals translating the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the necessity of promoting the Arabic language to the youth for it is an integral part of the national identity.

The delegation participated in several workshops introducing students to the concept of creative reading and its skills and ways of developing those skills.

The delegation also visited the exhibition of the Arabic language at the centre, where they were briefed on the most prominent scholars of the Arabic language, poets, and writers, along with essential works.
