EPPA launches Fifth "Together for a More Beautiful Summer" PGRM

Sharjah 24: The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPPA) in Sharjah launches the activities of the fifth edition of "Together for a More Beautiful Summer" programme, primarily for students and young adults between 12-16 years of age from 18th till 28th July 2022.
The EPAA is once again joined by its partners, who collaborated intensively in curating activities for students. Notable partners include Sharjah Natural History and Botanical Museum, Al Dhaid Wildlife Center, Seed Bank, Sharjah Museums Authority, Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre, and Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre. Sharjah Art Foundation, Rain Room, Al Dhaid Hospital, Sharjah Police General Command, Environmental Education at EPAA, and Sharjah Broadcasting Authority will also participate in the programme.

Contribute to the development of creative thinking among the participating students

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, said: “We are proud to once again organise the ever-successful "Together for a More Beautiful Summer" summer programme, in its fifth iteration. Credit for the continuing success of the summer program goes to our EPAA’s practical planning and notable efforts from our strategic partners. We have worked in unison to achieve our shared goal of contributing to the development of creative thinking among participating students, promoting collaboration and teamwork, and providing an educational environment and avenue to motivate students to problem-solve creatively.”

Al Suwaidi added: "The participating students will benefit greatly from the programme, particularly from the targeted awareness lectures, as well as by participation in scientific, creative, and innovative workshops. The EPAA emphasises the importance of environmental conservation efforts and awareness activities that enhance and develop the capabilities and talents of students. The program was created in order to promote a culture of student creativity, for the betterment of our environment.”

Various activities
The programme will host a diverse range of fun and informative activities, in addition to several field visits, workshops, exploration tours, and attendance of various educational and awareness lectures.

The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah seeks to protect the environment, natural reserves, wildlife and their biodiversity through scientific studies and research. The authority publishes educational awareness material, implements policies for environmental awareness and programs, and launches specialised campaigns in the field of environmental awareness and education.
