The Health Promotion Department participates in SCRF

Sharjah 24: The Health Promotion Department of Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs is participating in the 13th edition of "Sharjah Children's Reading Festival" (SCRF) organised by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme “Create Creativity”, whereas the department provides a programme of initiatives, and interactive initiatives and workshops aimed at spreading health awareness among all members of society in general and promoting children's health culture in particular.
This year, the department was keen to present awareness programmes in an innovative way through recreational activities that attract children to raise their awareness of current health issues. The department also presents many workshops on the importance of eating healthy meals that include vegetables and fruits, as well as organising competitions to encourage children to be active, exercise and stay away from negative eating habits, with the aim of enhancing their physical health and ensuring their protection from infectious diseases.

Her Excellency Eman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, confirmed that the department is keen to be present and participate in different cultural and social events, to enhance channels of communication with all members of society to deliver awareness messages. 

Her Excellency Eman Rashid Saif noted that that the participation in SCRF comes in line with the visions and directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, which aims to provide awareness and innovative initiatives to raise health awareness among the residents of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in general.
The department pavilion includes a special section to display educational programmes and films for children, as well as a section for competitions and awareness games. 
Throughout the festival, the pavilion saw educational segments that include reading health stories for children in cooperation with health-supporting associations that are keen on raising awareness of diseases and ways of treatment. 

The department also allocated female employees and health educators who are present to communicate effectively with parents, respond to their inquiries, and inform them of the department's latest releases and most important programmes.
