Sharjah Police and Self-Defense Club sign a MoU

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC) concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, to strengthen ways of joint cooperation to achieve common goals through developing sports competencies, developing and educating young people, in an effort to achieve the desired growth and development in the sports and social sector in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, President of the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, in the presence of Abdul Malik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, and Lt. Colonel Muhammad Butti Al Hajri, Deputy Director of the Media and Public Relations Department Sharjah Police, Saeed Al Ajeel, a sports expert at the Sharjah Sports Council, and a number of officers and officials from both parties.

The memorandum of understanding included aspects of cooperation between the Sharjah Police and the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, taking advantage of all the properties between both parties to achieve the desired goals of that memorandum.

Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said that SPGC is keen to adopt various sports activities, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at preserving young people and directing them to invest their time productively, and make sports in the Emirate of Sharjah a way of life.

Major General Saif Al Shamsi praised the great role played by the Sharjah Sports Club for Self-Defense and the Sharjah Sports Council in serving the community at the sports and social levels, caring and guiding young people to the right path, preserving them and providing opportunities for them to achieve Olympic successes internationally, thus contributing In advancing the progress of the Emirate of Sharjah in the sports field.

His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani, Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police for his unlimited support for the activities of the Sports Council and Sharjah Clubs, and for his contribution to achieving the goals of the wise leadership in preserving the nation’s gains from youth and guiding them to benefit from initiatives and activities provided by the emirate's clubs in general, especially the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club.

His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, said that the MoU is in the interest of the Sharjah Sports Council to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership in working to make sports an important way of life.

His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais extended his thanks and appreciation to Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi for his interest and care for the club’s athletes, and for his initiative to harness all the properties that help the club to carry out sports and social programmes.
